A Handbook to Understanding Literature by Christina Meyer-Schaffer,

A Handbook to Understanding Literature by Christina Meyer-Schaffer,
This reference guide is designed to serve as both a supplementary text for high school and introductory college literature courses, and as a general style manual for writers and writing instructors. The first of the book's two major sections focuses on the parts and principles of literature. These are elements students must understand and master as they develop the interpretive and critical reading skills they'll need in order to understand the works of major British and American writers. The book's second section shows students how to put their newly learned principles of literature to work in developing their own writing skills, both for class papers and manuscripts intended for publication.

American Renaissance (literature) - In American literature, the American Renaissance was the mid-19th century, and especially the period roughly from 1850 to 1855, during which many of the works most widely considered American masterpieces were produced. These included Melville's Moby-Dick, Whitman's first edition of Leaves of Grass, Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter and The House of the Seven Gables, Thoreau's Walden, and Emerson's Representative Men (though most of Emerson's best-known texts preceded the period slightly).

Operation British - In the fictional Gundam Universe, Operation British was the final culmination of the Principality of Zeon's massive offensive during the opening week of the One Year War. The operation, supposedly named in reference to the American Revolutionary War, involved the seizure of one of the defunct colonies and its subsequent drop onto earth.

PEN American Center - PEN American Center (PEN), founded in 1922, works to advance literature, to defend free expression, and to foster international literary fellowship.

British South American Airways - British South American Airways (BSAA) was a British state-run airline of the 1940s. Originally named British Latin American Air Lines (BLAIR) it was split off from British Overseas Airways Corporation to operate their South Atlantic routes.
